Covid cases rise Dec. Overtime commences with a coin toss. The visiting team captain calls the toss. The winner of the toss can choose whether to receive the kick or to kick off, or the team winning the toss can choose which goal to defend. If the team that receives the opening kickoff scores a touchdown on the kickoff return or the ensuing possession, the game is over and that team has won the game.

There is no one- or two-point conversion attempt. If the team that receives the opening kickoff does not score a touchdown or a field goal on its initial possession, the next team to score wins the game. If the team that receives the opening kickoff is tackled in the end zone for a safety, the game is over and the second team has won the game.

If the team that receives the opening kickoff scores a field goal on the initial possession, the second team receives an opportunity to possess the ball.

If after the first team scores a field goal the second team scores a touchdown, the game is over and the second team has won the game. If after the first team scores a field goal the second team scores a field goal, the next team to score wins the game. If after the first team scores a field goal the second team fails to score during its possession, the game is over and the first team has won.

If after the first team scores a field goal the second team loses possession by interception or fumble, the play continues until its conclusion.

For example, the first team can return the ball for a touchdown, winning by nine points. Or the first team can lose possession during the return, the second team can recover the ball, and the second team can return it for a touchdown, winning the game. Possession means simply an opportunity to possess the ball. It is only a restriction on the type of container used to carry items. Approved seat cushions may be carried into the stadium.

Large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers are not permitted. Clear seat cushions and seat pads without pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers are permitted. Fans will be able to bring blankets by tossing them over a shoulder or arm as they do in Green Bay. They can be easily screened carrying a blanket into the stadium. The NFL has a comprehensive set of best practices for stadium security certified by the Department of Homeland Security as anti-terrorism technologies under the United States Safety Act.

We anticipate that many more stadiums and arenas will soon adopt this policy. Fans carrying bags that do not meet the criteria will be turned away from the stadium well before they reach the gates. As an alternative for guests that have no other option, stadiums are encouraged to consider providing the opportunity to temporarily check non-compliant bags at a facility located well outside the bag-restricted area.

Check with your local stadium before the game to see if alternative storage is available. If I have certain items that I need to bring into the stadium for medical reasons and they won't fit in the clear bag, what do I do?

Individuals will be present at stadium entrances to allow screening of these bags and medically necessary items. The NFL and its partners continuously conduct comprehensive evaluations of stadium security risks. The NFL's security and screening have evolved since and will continue to do so to reflect the results of those assessments. Unlike some event venues, we are not banning all bags. Small clutch purses, with or without a handle or strap, are permitted along with either the 12" by 6" by 12" clear tote bag or the one-gallon freezer bag.

The bag literally must be all clear. This should enable you to carry the same items you have in previous years and speed entry into the stadium for all fans because it will take less time to screen bags.

Shorter lines means fewer hassles. We encourage fans not to bring any bags, but have created a policy that balances fan needs with improved public safety and convenience. We are limiting only the type of bags carried into the stadium, not items that you normally bring to a game.

Therefore, you can carry in your pockets or jacket keys, makeup, feminine products, comb, phone, wallet, credit cards, etc. You can use the clear bag and clutch to carry other items. You will continue to have the flexibility to bring a wide variety of approved items into the stadium. Every member of your family may carry in a permissible bag. Diapers can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, is allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the stadium.

If I have special medical equipment I need to have with me at all times, where do I put that? Will this policy affect the ability of fans to tailgate?

Are there limitations on tailgating items? Fans will be able to enjoy tailgating activities in the parking lots and do so with greater safety and knowledge that entry into the stadium will be smoother and faster. Clear Bag Policy.
