Double-click on anyone in the list to get a whisper instant messaging window with just that one person. You would do this for example if you had a question for the facilitator that the whole group did not need to see. A tab for your new whisper conversation window will be added at the top of your existing chat window.

You can see only one conversation at a time this way. You can switch between chat tabs by clicking on the desired tab. If you want to be able to see both conversations at the same time, you can drag and drop the whisper tab onto your desktop, and it will make a separate window for that conversation.

Then you can arrange move and resize your two chat windows so you can see both at the same time. Sometimes your facilitator will want you to be able to chat and view a browser window at the same time.
