French bra sizes converter

Bra labeling can be sometimes confusing especially when there are different countries involved. Although most of them use the band size measurement system and lettered cup sizes there are still important differences.

Cup sizes are the same, but Australia's bra band measurement system is based on dress sizing charts. The US and Canada use the inch system, Band sizes use the same designation in inches and the cups also increase by 1-inch-steps. In Europe, the band size is measured in centimeters and rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 cm. The cup sizes increase in steps of 2 cm instead of 1 inch 2,5cm.

Japanese sizes are the same as European ones, but the cup usually precedes the bust designation. The French and Spanish system is a permutation of the European sizing system. Availability of sizes depend on the brand and customer demand.

Some bra brands specialize in less common sizes. European and International band but not cup naming and measurements are identical to the Japanese and Korean conventions. The sizes increase in steps of 2 cm and the names continue alphabetically with B cm , C cm , and so on. Some brands offer the size AAA two sizes smaller than A. Always calculate the difference to the rounded down under bust measurement and not the precise measurement.

Example: Measurements 84 cm under bust and 96 cm over bust suggests a difference of 12 cm which would result in A-cup. This results in a C-cup. For cup sizes, always choose the larger sizes. European and International cups but not bands are identical in both measurements and size labels to French, Spanish, Belgian and Italian sizing conventions.
